Winter is almost here and the mighty mountains are ready to greet you!

In this season, Trekking in itself is a challenging task but Winter treks offer abundance when it comes to quiet, expansive snowscapes. 

For some adventure addicts, winter treks are an excuse to step out of their comfort zones while for others it’s an escape from monotonous city life.

Suitable for : Adventure Addicts and Energetic Souls

Not Suitable for :  Weak Hearts and Lethargic Humans

So here is the list of treks, which should take out the adventure addict  in you and accept the challenge to step out of your comfortable beds and make the best out of this winter.

1. Chadar Trek

The trek is over the Zanskar River which lies frozen during the winter. The most preferred time to cross the ice would be in February. During that time, the ice tends to be at its most stable state. The frozen river trek begins from the small village of Chilling from where the Zanskar River begins to freeze.

Temperature : January to February- Day time -10C to -05C and morning/night -20C to -30C. Wind chill, freezing climate with snow fall.

Level of Trek : Zanskar Chadar trek is a difficult and trek goes to Max altitude 11,123 Ft.

Suitable for : Proficient trekkers with high level of fitness

2. Brahmatal Trek

Himalayas lets you venture into a few treks in winter that are as adventurous and stunning like Brahmatal. The amount of snow at the trek teases every trekker to take up the challenge. Forests coupled with impressive views of the Himalayas is a treat to the shutterbugs.

Brahmatal reveals a heavenly facet in winter when the snow gently falls on it slopes. The frozen lake with the mighty Himalayan peaks overlooking it, creates a mesmerising ambience. The trekkers are awed by the views of summits over 7000 metres.
